Kindergarten students are working hard in Reading! We expect all students to be reading at a Level D by the end of the school year! Here are some strategies that we are working on:
- learning to read a book. We are getting our mouths to say the beginning sounds of each word. We are also searching our books for characters, and looking at the pictures to figure out what the story is about
- learning how to handle a book - front cover, back cover, pages, pictures, words
- identifying and reading sight words found in stories
- sounding out words by blending the sounds/letters together
